Educator FAQs

How does GHM Academy work?

GHM Academy is a 3 in 1 resource that takes educational content and puts it in a format that makes it easy and fun to learn. As a Learning Management System (LMS), its ease of use and easy navigation makes it one of the best on the market. Teachers can use existing content, create their own content and manage their classrooms from one easy place.

Why did I receive an email requesting that I confirm my email address?

Email verification has become a standard procedure for most online services, and we think it's a good idea, too. It allows us to make sure that you typed your email address correctly when registering, and it lets us verify that you actually own that email account. We hate spam as much as you do, and we want to make sure we don't send unwanted emails to someone else's inbox.

Is there a cost to GHM Academy?

No, there is a free account available to every user. However, if you want to access any paid content, you first need to purchase the appropriate licence. A licence is also needed for GHM Creator. Just click on the green Purchase button at the top to see what is available to purchase.

What web browser is compatible with GHM?

All web browsers are compatible with GHM, except Internet Explorer. To get the best results possible, use Chrome, Safari, or Firefox 56.0 or higher. We recommended that you upgrade to the latest version.

How fast does my internet need to be?

GHM Academy works with even slow internet speeds.

What does a free account include?

A free account allows the GHM user to access all content that is listed by GHM and GHM content partners as free. Free content is able to be assigned to a classroom to share with your students.

What does an account with paid content include?

Any paid content allows the GHM user to access the content that was paid for and assign it to a classroom. All free content is able to be assigned to a classroom as well.

Is there a limit to how many pages, lessons or quizzes I can create in GHM Creator?

Presently there is no limit.

How does billing work?

GHM plans require an annual subscription. Your subscription will automatically renew each billing period until you cancel it. Don't worry, we'll email you a reminder about upcoming renewals. If you decide that you don't want to continue your subscription, you can stop your renewal at any time.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For school and board purchases, we accept checks and work with your accounting department on billing with purchase orders. For individual or teacher purchases, we accept Visa and MasterCard.

Can I use GHM on a tablet and smartphone?

GHM Academy can be used on a tablet and smart phone. The user has access to all the functionality of the application and only needs internet or data access to use GHM.

Can I save my work and come back to it later?

Yes, you can save your work-in-progress as a "draft." Take a break from working on your quiz, lesson, event or map whenever you like. All of your work will be saved, and you can pick up later right where you left off.

With the GHM Free account, you are not able to create or modify lessons. Purchase GHM Creator to create and save unlimited drafts and work on multiple projects at once.

What types of content can I add to my lesson?

Almost any type of multimedia content can be added to a lesson. You can add text, URL links, videos or images using URL’s, as well as adding geographical points, movements, or lines on a map, and dates with a timeline. Now 3D tours, games, and formatting can be added to any page in the lesson.

How do I share lessons with students?

Classrooms are the only way for the teacher to share lessons with students. Teachers can create classes that students can join. Lessons sync automatically between teacher and student, so it's easy for students to access the teacher’s instructions and for teachers to monitor students work. Students can join your class on the GHM website with your class code, or they can be entered in by the teacher.

How do students join a class?

Students sign up for a free account on the GHM website at ghmacademy.com. They will be prompted to enter their teacher's class code during sign up. Students need a class code to join any class, or they can be entered in by the teacher manually.

Can students create Lessons or Quizzes?

No, students are not able to create Lessons or Quizzes.

What happens if I downgrade to the free plan?

We strongly recommend not to downgrade because you will no longer have access to all your created material, and you will not be able to share paid content with your students.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

If you decide that GHM isn't for you, just visit your account settings page on GHM to cancel your subscription. Once you cancel, you may continue to enjoy your plan until the end of your current subscription period. When your subscription ends, you will not be charged and your account will be downgraded automatically to the GHM Free plan.
